The board of directors for the gambling giant Entain announced sweeping changes. The company is forming two new committees to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of its board.
The People & Governance Committee
The People & Governance Committee is one of two new committees that will be in charge of reviewing policies and practices for the workforce and ensuring they are aligned with the company’s strategy, purpose and values.
The new committee, which will also oversee the succession of the leadership team and board, will take into account the diversity goals of Entain.
The committee will make sure that the appropriate procedures for training and evaluating directors are in place and will also review the changes in the regulatory environment.
Stella David will chair the People & Governance Committee at Entain, which will also include Barry Gibson and Virginia McDowell. The Nomination Committee will be incorporated into the People & Governance Committee.
The Sustainability & Compliance Committee
The Sustainability and Compliance Committee is Entain’s second new committee. Formerly called the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee, this committee will oversee the company’s Sustainability and compliance program.
The committee will also oversee the management of Entain’s relationships with its diverse stakeholders. It will also monitor the progress of internal key performance indicators as well as external Sustainability and compliance index results.
Stella David will be stepping down as chairperson of this new committee. She will now serve as chairperson of the People & Governance Committee. Virginia McDowell will chair the Sustainability & Compliance Committee, which will also include David Satz and Rahul Werde.
Entain’s success is driven by its employees
Barry Gibson commented on this new development. He stated that the casino giant owes much of its success to the talented people who work for it. Gibson said that the newly introduced changes will help to diversify the board of directors with more talented individuals.

Entain has two committees in addition to these two. These are the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee. Stella David is the chairperson of the first committee, which also includes Virginia McDowell, Rahul Welde and Rahul McDowell. The Audit Committee is headed by Pierre Bouchut, and also includes David Satz, Rahul Welde, and Virginia McDowell.
