Conference USA has announced that it has signed a new partnership for sports data with IMG Arena.
The data contract will cover all football and basketball data for both men’s and woman’s basketball. The data and technology deal goes beyond betting and includes media rights, performance and performance sectors.
Conference USA’s Judy MacLeod Commissioner said: “This data-rights partnership with IMG Arena allows Conference USA to remain in control of their statistical data, as we are seeing a substantial increase in the use of those data.” These efforts complement the increased visibility CBS Sports and ESPN provide our programs with as we launch our new media deals. This partnership is a crucial step as we navigate the pivotal shifts in the sports data markets. We are thrilled to be doing so with IMG Arena, a respected and experienced partner.
According to the press release, the conference believes that the partnership “aims at ensuring complete control and accuracy of statistical data for the conference, while creating a revenue source that benefits each member institutions.”
This football season, Conference USA will have several new members. Jacksonville State, Liberty, and New Mexico State moved up from FCS to CUSA. Kennesaw State will join the conference by 2024.
Andrew Hess , Director of Commercial Partnerships at IMG Arena, said: “We are delighted to partner up with Conference USA in order to enhance the fans’ experience and to drive additional value to CUSA’s assets by creating official data feeds.”
IMG Arena has also had a busy summer. The group announced integration of its Golf offering into FanDuel’s product. IMG Arena is also enhancing its soccer offering with a new MLS contract and a deal with NWSL.
