After an appeal against the sanction was denied, Kansspelautoriteit has stated that it intends to collect a EUR4.41m payment from Ganmix.
This is due to an order that was issued on June 22, 2022 by the Ksa. It was issued to stop the group from playing online games of chance with no valid licence.
The regulator stated that it was possible to open a player account in the Netherlands via the NordSlot or Rant casino websites during March 2022.
The aforementioned order also included periodic penalties payments of EUR1.47m per semaine, which could increase to EUR4.41m.
The Ksa stated that they intend to collect the entire amount. However, it was said that after several rechecks, “it was still possible for you to play from the Netherlands” or to create an account.
The gaming authority did not reject the Gammix initial objection, but it noted that the group could still challenge the collection decision.
Rene Jansen is the Chair of Ksa. He said: “We must press ahead when fighting illegal supply. A court order requiring periodic penalties payments can often be effective in stopping a violation of administrative law.
“Not in this instance, as the violation has not fully ceased. So we move on to the next step. We don’t want periodic penalties payments to be ignored. This would make the remedy less effective. Anybody who continues to violate an order subject to periodic penalty payments must pay. It’s as simple as that.
The Ksa has already been on a regulatory rampage this year after issuing a series of sanctions. These include EUR900,000. to Shark77, EUR400,000 for Joi Gaming and EUR350,000 to Bingoal. Equinox Dynamic, Curacao, and Slovakia’s Domiseda and Partners have received penalties totalling EUR900,000.
In addition, EUR26m in penalties were handed down to N1 Interactive (EUR12.64m), Videoslots (9.87m), Betpoint Group (1.78m), Probe Investments (2.12m) and Fairload (9.900,000. This was part of a total package totaling EUR26m.
