The US intensifies its efforts
Connecticut and Mississippi have not been the only states to crack down on illegal gambling. Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida recently closed down 11 illegal gambling casinos after an investigation supported Florida Gaming Control Commission. During the raid, law enforcement found 400 slot machines as well as $403,000 cash.
Michigan Gaming Control Board continues to act against illegal gambling. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) announced in April that it had removed 167 gaming machines from the state over the last year. 24 people were charged.
In a press release, the MGCB stated that “the operation of these gaming machines is putting citizens at risk, because they do not have recourse if they are misled, cheat, or taken advantage of in any other way.”
