Caesars Entertainment announced two new policies in order to reinforce its commitment to responsible gaming and protect players from any gambling-related harm.
Caesars will expand its self-exclusion policy starting at the end March, in conjunction with National Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
Caesars will be covered by the policy, which includes Caesars Sportsbook and Caesars igaming, as well as its land-based facilities. Caesars has limited IT integration properties that are not yet integrated.
Any Caesars consumer who is registered on a state sponsored self-exclusion listing in which Caesars is operating will be added to the universal exclusion list. To have all of your gaming privileges revoked, other players can opt in to the list.
Players can also self-exclude through Caesars Sportsbook App, which will allow them to be excluded from mobile and in-person betting on the operator’s network.
Jeffrey Hendricks (Caesar’s senior vice president, assistant general counsel for regulatory compliance and compliance), stated that building a platform so technical and extensive was an amazing task.
“The implementation process of this policy was difficult, but we wanted to offer a more comprehensive exclusion option for our players in order to ensure that everyone who plays with us is responsible. We are proud to announce that we have reached our goal and offer the largest exclusion option in the nation.
Project 21
Caesars revealed, however, that it is currently implementing a 21+ gaming policy. Caesars Rewards will be restricted to customers under 21 years old during the first half the current year.
Caesars will also limit domestic gaming, parimutuel and sports betting to persons over 21 years of age, where permitted by law.
Caesars Entertainment’s president and chief operating officer Anthony Carano stated that “Since launching Project 21 back in 1989, and establishing the first Responsible Gaming standards in the industry, Caesars Entertainment’s has remained steadfast in our commitment to providing meaningful solutions for problem or underage gaming.”
“As our company grows, we realize the importance of communicating that message across our enterprise. Our commitment to our guests as well as to the industry is reflected in our consistent age restrictions.
Particular responsibility
Caesars has made additional changes to its responsible gambling programs, including the introduction of a new Responsible Gaming Council and funding for organizations in this field.
Caesar’s chief executive Tom Reeg stated that “As North America’s largest gaming company, we have a special responsibility for ensuring that all we do is built upon a solid foundation in Responsible Gaming.” These new policies are a reflection of that commitment.
“We are happy that we are now able to ensure, when someone tells us that it is not in their best interests to play with us, that they are not only exempt from their local property or state exclusion programs through the mobile app but also from all gaming platforms we offer in one easy step.
“Given our national presence, and the multitude of products that we offer, we feel confident that restricting access all gaming options and our Caesars Rewards databases, including those traditionally available to people over 18, will be in our best interests and the best interest of our company.”
