The Betting and Gaming Council will make a donation to some of the UK’s most prominent charities this year. The betting and gaming council (BGC) confirmed on Thursday that the leading bookmakers of the UK have pledged to donate the entire profit from the handicap Britannia Stakes Race this year at Royal Ascot.
BGC members that contribute to the noble cause are bet365 (Entain, Ladbrokes Coral), 888 William Hill (Unibet), Betway (Kindred), Flutter, (Paddy Power Betfair Sky Bet), Rank Group, (Grosvenor Sport), Tote (Fitzdares, Bet), Virgin Bet, and LivescoreBet.
All of these leading companies have agreed to support the fundraising initiative, and donate their profits. Britannia Stakes will be a historic race at Royal Ascot on June 22, 2023. The race profits will be donated to charities like the SAS Regimental Association, Together for Looked After Children and Ascot Racecourse Supports.
The BGC has raised more than PS5.5 Million ($6.8M) for charitable causes. It has helped different charities. The BGC stated even if the bookmakers do not make a profit, they will still donate a total of PS250,000 (309,300), which will go to nominated charities.
