Betr cofounder Joey Levy stated that this football season, the focus would be on Betr’s new DFS venture Betr picks. However, the company will still roll out its sports betting products in Virginia this autumn.
Virginia Lottery granted Betr an operator’s license in the first half of this year. The group had a problem when they failed to inform the SEC of the pending investigation and fine that was levied on Jake Paul . According to Vixio (paywall), the group self-reported and agreed to pay a fine of $25,000 for the omission.
Virginia’s Betr Sportsbook version will be the final rollout of what the company calls the V0 platform. Levy noted earlier this year that new state rollouts would utilize Chameleontech, which the company acquired from FansUnited.
Virginia bettors can also try out a new offering, Scripts. Scripts is described as a product that “combines the instant gratification offered by a microbet, with the long odds provided by a parlay.”
Levy said, “We’re thrilled to expand our online sports betting businesses by launching Virginia in time for NFL season.” Virginia will be our final state to launch V0 before we roll out V1 Sportsbook in new and existing states next year. Virginia has a large fan base for both professional and collegiate sports. We are excited to offer our differentiated product to this market and continue to lead the way in responsible gaming in Virginia as we have in other jurisdictions. “This marks the 27th jurisdiction Betr has been live for real-money. Betr Picks was launched in 24 jurisdictions, while V0 of Betr Sportsbook is now live in Ohio, Massachusetts and Virginia.
Virginia, like the other states that offer Betr Sportsbook at this time, does not currently offer Betr Picks.
