The card was issued by Tebca Peru a top Fintech company in Peru. It will allow consumers to use it and add security to their transactions with iGaming operators.
AstroPay teams up with Tebca Peru to launch a card
It is easy to activate the card and there are no additional fees. The card can be used at any merchant accepting Visa. Additionally, the card comes with a cashback program.
This is part AstroPay’s larger ambition for Latin America, where the company actively seeks to expand. It is a digital-economy company that focuses on people without bank accounts.
AstroPay’s Prepaid Card will be available in Peruvian Soles and American Dollars. It was successfully tested in the United Kingdom. AstroPay hopes to test the card in Peru to see if it is a good fit for the region.
Astro may be looking to enter Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. These countries are the largest iGaming markets and the most popular sports betting markets in the region. AstroPay’s CTO and CFO Guillermo Dotta commented on the developments. He said that the opportunity to strengthen his company’s position within the Peruvian payment sector was a great one. He added:

The Company is Committed to Latin America
Dotta explained how the new product was created to meet the needs and preferences in Latin America. Gilberto Chaparro, general manager of Visa Peru, was also pleased by the collaboration. He stated that the company was actively working with prominent companies in the sector to promote the digitalization and further digitization of payments in the region.
AstroPay is already present on the Brazilian market, with a similar launch for prepaid cards with Mastercard. With Huobi Global a well-established crypto company, the company also offers cryptocurrency solutions in Latin America.
