Arizona’s December 2022 sports betting market saw a 14.7% increase in spending by consumers. This was $572.5m more than the previous year.
This monthly figure was 7.2% lower than the $616.9m wagered November 2022, but comfortably higher than the $499.2m placed in the same period in 2021.
Mobile betting was responsible for $566.5 million of all December bets, and $5.0 million was spent at state-owned sportsbooks.
Players won $516.9m. This is an increase of 40.9% over the $38.6m that was recorded in the same month 2021.
After removing $17.1m worth free bets revenue and promotional credits revenue revenue, almost all of which were used online for sports betting, there was $37.5m adjusted gross revenue. This is 856.4% more than the $38.8m revenue that was attributable to free bets.
The December 2022 total revenue was $37.0m from online wagering, and $207,663 came from retail betting at land-based Arizona facilities.
