US gaming company Boom Entertainment has purchased the NBC Sports Predictor software from entertainment giant Comcast.
New York-based game developer and technology company will now be in full control of the app, which is free to play. They have been NBC Sports’ partner for the development and operation of the product since it was launched in 2019.
NBC Sports Predictor welcomed more than two million new sign-ups in the last four year, and tens millions of predictions were played.
Predictor will be the new name of the product, and there are plans to introduce several new game formats by the end the year. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Boom completed a 15m funding round by 2021, which included Sands Capital and Robert Kraft. The cash was to be used for the expansion of real-money games.
Boom has launched its casino and sports betting divisions, and Zack Messer was appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer.
