The Ukrainian gambling commission has blocked eleven more casino sites that are not licensed last week, as the number of new entries in the self-exclusion registry for the country rose 139% during the first six months of 2024.

Data revealed at a meeting of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries on July 10 showed that registrations had increased by 4,585 since the end of the year 2023 to reach 7,874 players who self-excluded themselves on July 1.

The regulator added 41 people to its register via the applications of their relatives.

Ukraine blocks more illegal sites

Ukraine’s Gambling Commission demanded, in order to highlight the harm caused by illegal gambling, that the software companies hosting the sites block 11 online casinos without a license within 3 days.

This order directs all electronic communications service providers to stop blocking websites that use their Domain Name System servers (DNS).

The sites flagged by the commission included 888starz.bet, Cosmobet.one, Astekbet.com, Vulkan-777.biz, F1casino.club, Bettwo.fun, Stake.ceo, Roobet.com, Casino-joker-20.com, Clubsvulkanbets.store and Chipstars.bet.

The commission flagged these brands as being in violation of current gambling legislation.

The statement read: “Owners must stop accessing these sites within 3 working days.”

Cloudflare Inc. and Melbikomas UAB, website hosting companies were flagged specifically as the operators of Cosmobet’s and Astekbet’s sites.

KRAIL has blocked 371 illegal gambling websites in Ukraine.

After a collaboration between KRAIL, Ukraine’s Security Service and other agencies to develop a DNS server that would limit the access of domain names and subdomains to DNS servers more than 1,000 orders have been issued.

Commission operates as usual?

KRAIL is operating normally, even though the Ukrainian parliament voted in April to disband the commission to “draw attention to the harm caused by the gambling industry to the Ukrainian Army and Ukrainian Society”.
