Flutter entertainment PokerStars have teamed up with BillyChip Foundation to offer additional support and care to the homeless.
The UK non profit organisation that supports people who sleep rough will receive a grant of PS100,000. This will be spread over a period of two years. The grant will enable those affected to buy basic necessities.
The poker, casino, and sports betting brand PokerStars will also host a charity no-limit Hold’em tournament live during the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour.
The charity event will take place at London’s Hippodrome Casino, on Wednesday 20th September. Anyone can buy in for PS220. Each entrant will donate PS50 from their entry fee.
Sue Hammett is the International Head of CSR for PokerStars. She stated that PokerStars was delighted to support BillyChip over the next two-year period.
We are proud to have been a part of Billy’s Legacy. The impact that this charity has had on homeless people will be a lasting legacy. We will achieve Flutter’s goal to improve the lives of ten million people by 2030 through our work with them.
BillyChip is a currency that can be used by the homeless to purchase food and drinks at participating establishments. The currency is designed to address some of the concerns that people might have about giving money to homeless people. It also offers options to the user.
Jon Hope added that BillyChip is excited to work with PokerStars to change lives.
It’s amazing how BillyChip caught the attention and support of a brand that is dedicated to helping people in various situations, just like we do every day in our work.
